Pertamina is a national Indonesian oil and gas company which headquartered in Jakarta. Pertamina engaged in Liqufied natural gas, Oil exploration and currently, the company is becoming the the world's largest producer and exporter of Liquefied Natural Gas. Pertamina is a nationalized company from the Dutch assets. Pertamina is derived from Pertamin and Permina to consolidate oil and gas industry for its management, exploration, marketing and distribution throughout Indonesia.
Pertamina owns six petroleum refineries which have a total combined capacity of around 1 million barrels per day, they are: Dumai Unit hich is loated in Riau, Plaju Unit which is located in South Sumatra, Balongan Unit which is located in West Java, Cilacap Unit which is located in Central Java, Balikpapan Unit which is located in East Kalimantan and Sorong Unit which is located in West Papua.
In the oil refineries, Pertamina is processing the crude oil refined into more useful products such as petroleum, pertamax gasoline, kerosene, and liquefied petroleum gas and asphalt base.
From their business Pertamina become a great contributor company for Indonesian nation. for example in 2011, pertamina net income US$2.76 billion in 2012 and they are targeting US$3.05 billion in 2013. Actually the company has lost in their net profit last year, particularly in non-subsidized of LPG amounted to US$541 million and subsidized fuel for US$120 million. The Pertamina target's in 2013 up 10,5% from 2012
Pertamina is also manage output from LNG plants which is operated by two companies, they are Badak LNG which operates in Bontang and Arun LNG which operates in Lhokseumawe. LNG sales also targeted to fall from 605.99 million MMbtu in 2012 to 556.12 million MMbtu in 2013.
To consolidate their business, Pertamina is supported by six subsidiaries company, they are: Pertamina EP, Pertamina EP Cepu, Pertamina Gas, Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia, Pertamina Hulu Energy and Pertamina Geothermal Energy.
Currently the company is lead by Karen Agustiawan as the CEO. In 2011, Forbes named her first on its list of "Asia's 50 Power Businesswomen
