Invite you for
Global Graduate Development Program
Global Graduate Development Program (GGDP) is a rigorous, multi-year experience designed to help new engineering graduates transition from university into the work place, McDermott and our industry.
The aim of the program is to provide a foundation of understanding about the various operations and functions within the company and how they interact. In our EPCI environment, we believe it’s important for Engineers to be familiar with all areas, and their interdependence, right from the start. Knowledge of all functions and exposure to them through GGDP enable participants to make informed career-planning choices. The program also supports career growth by providing a pathway to earn professional accreditations.
During the three-year program, GGDP participants gain on-the-job experience, spending six months each in the company’s six main divisions, including Fabrication, Engineering, Project Management and Marine. Experienced leaders are assigned as mentors who provide professional counsel and support.
In addition to on-the-job learning, GGDP participants receive structured training and development from their first year onwards. This includes formal classroom instruction by internal subject matter experts, field trips and team-building exercises.
In the second year, development is advanced by further application of learning and on-the-job experience to the business context. With the input, guidance and coaching of their supervisors and mentors, GGDP participants prepare either a technical paper or a business case, and formally present it to Engineering management, senior business leaders and their GGDP peers.
At the conclusion of the third year, program participants are placed within one of their preferred divisions.
The program is aligned with the company’s focus on global talent mobility and gives high-performing GGDP participants an opportunity for short-term assignments at various international locations.
GGDP is complemented by key internal programs and development processes such as:
