Before 2010, the name of McDermott is "J. Ray McDermott", but after restructuring company In 2010 the name change to "McDermott International, since the company share-holders agreed to "spin-off" the U.S.-based government contracting services company Babcock & Wilcox and its related other domestic companies.

In 2011, McDermott International built flare tripod and three bridges for Chevron’s Platong Gas II project in the Gulf of Thailand included Intermac-650’s largest float-over installation of the 21,000-ton integrated topsides and also receipt engineering contract to construct the substructure for the Woodside-operated North West Shelf Venture North Rankin B redevelopment project offshore Western Australia, including the largest jacket (25,353 tons) ever built in the region.



Still in The same year, 2011 - McDermott constructed the 17,000-ton Central Azeri Topsides for the ACG Full Field Development in the Caspian Sea, and handled assembly, hook-up and commissioning of the integrated drilling/quarters/production deck. Topside fabrication was done primarily in Azerbaijan at Baku Deepwater Jack Factory (BDJF), a fabrication yard owned by the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic, utilizing key local Azerbaijani infrastructure, equipment and workers. The contract included upgrading plant and equipment at BDJF before actual construction of the topsides began. Local Azerbaijanis contributed to more than 80% of the project.

They provide theintegrated solutions for Engineering, Construction, Installation and Marine.The company is also make a strategic partnering with Keppel FELS, FloaTEC, LLC offering floating facilities technology and project management specialized solutions by matching the best deepwater technology to customers’ field development needs. In 2008, McDermott International is also make a joint venture business with state-owned China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation which provides topsides and modules for the offshore and onshore oil and gas markets.




On january 2012, McDermott receipt project from Ichthys Gas LNG Project ( A joint venture of Liquid Natural Gas between INPEX and Total (24%)in the Browse Basin approximately 125 miles offshore Western Australia) to make Subsea Infrastructure, Umbilicals, Risers & Flowlines (SURF). The procurement of this project will be executed by McDermott’s Singapore and Batam Island offices and for fabrication of the Riser Support Structure (RSS) and 17,637 ST of subsea structures will be carried out at Batam Island yard. At this project, McDermott subsea construction vessel North Ocean 102 will install all flexible pipelines, umbilicals, control systems, manifolds, spools and jumpers, while the Emerald Sea will undertake pre-construction and pre-commissioning activities. McDermott will also install mooring systems for the FPSO vessel and Central Processing Facility. Working with Heerema on the installation scope, Heerema’s heavy-lift vessel Aegir will install all rigid flowlines by J-Lay and Reel-Lay. Aegir will also install the RSS, gas export riser base, mid-depth buoys and the anchor mooring systems.

The company was achieved many prestigious awards at the international, national, regional and local levels, such as: Contractor of the Year for outstanding safety performance by our Asia Pacific region Platong Gas II team during 2010, The Business Initiative Directives Gold Quality Award At the International Quality Summit 2011 Convention, a runner-up for the IPLOCA Chevron-sponsored 2011 Health and Safety Award and a runner-up for the International Pipeline & Offshore Contractors Association (IPLOCA) inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility Award in recognition of the social investments and activities through our Asia Pacific region’s Batam International Charity, Batam Island, Indonesia.
