Petronas

Petronas is a Malaysian oil and gas company which was established on August 17, 1974. Petronas grown into an international oil and gas company with business interests in 35 countries. In 2009, Petronas become the 80th largest company in the world  version of the Fortune Global 500 and became the most profitable company in Asia.

Petronas has many subsidiaries are engaged in oil and gas based activities. Whole-related and affiliated companies formed Petronas Group. All the companies involved in a wide spectrum of petroleum activities, including upstream exploration and production of oil and gas to downstream oil refining, marketing and distribution of petroleum products; trade; processing and liquefaction; operation of gas pipelines, marketing of liquefied natural gas; manufacture and marketing petrochemical; shipment; automotive engineering, and property investment.

PETRONAS is responsible for the effective management of Malaysia’s oil and gas resources, to add value to this national asset and to ensure the orderly and sustainable development of the Malaysia’s petroleum industry. Petronas became the main source of revenue for the government of Malaysia. 45% of the government budget depends on Petronas dividends.
